Common Side Effects

Radiofrequency sessions usually cause warmth, mild redness and a feeling of fullness that settles within a few hours. Light spotting, temporary discharge and mild soreness are common for one to three days, more so after Morpheus8V. VTone can leave the pelvic muscles feeling worked, much like the day after a hard workout.

Rare Complications

Serious events have been reported with energy devices used in this area, including vaginal burns, scarring, chronic pain and pain during intercourse. Infection and delayed healing are uncommon but possible. The FDA has separately flagged burns, scarring and nerve injury with radiofrequency microneedling devices.

Safety and FDA Status

We would rather be clear than promotional about clearance status. VTone is cleared for intravaginal electrical stimulation and neuromuscular re-education, and the radiofrequency devices carry clearances for tissue heating and related surgical uses. No device is cleared specifically for vaginal rejuvenation, and in 2018 the FDA warned against marketing that claims otherwise. Long term evidence remains limited, so we do not promise outcomes.

With VTone, better bladder control usually appears partway through the session course rather than after a single visit. Individual results may vary.
How long do the results last?
Results typically hold for six to twelve months, and longer after Morpheus8V. These treatments do not stop the underlying process, so tissue continues to change with age and with estrogen levels. Most women plan a maintenance session roughly once a year. If menopause is driving your symptoms, treating the hormone side often extends the benefit.
What is the difference between Forma V and Morpheus8V?
Forma V heats tissue from the surface, while Morpheus8V works deeper. Forma V delivers uniform radiofrequency with real time temperature control and has no downtime, which makes it a good starting point for mild laxity and dryness. Morpheus8V combines microneedling with fractional radiofrequency for deeper remodeling, needs numbing, and involves a few days of recovery.
What does VTone do that the radiofrequency devices do not?
VTone strengthens muscle rather than remodeling tissue. It delivers intravaginal electrical muscle stimulation to retrain weakened muscles, which is why it is our choice when leaking with a cough, sneeze or lift is the main problem. Emfemme 360, Forma V and Morpheus8V change tissue quality instead. Some women benefit from both approaches in one plan.

Can I have this if I am in menopause or on hormone therapy?
Yes, and menopause is one of the most common reasons women come in. These treatments work alongside systemic or vaginal hormone therapy rather than replacing it, and many patients do best with both. Is there downtime, and when can I have sex again?
Emfemme 360, Forma V and VTone have no downtime, and you can drive home and return to work the same day. We generally ask you to wait about 48 hours before intercourse after radiofrequency. After Morpheus8V, avoid intercourse, tampons, pools and the lake for roughly five days while the tissue settles.
